Dumri
Dumri Block has been established on 2nd October 1957. It is situated at the western border of Jharkhand state surrounded by rivers, brooks, brooklets and forest. It is 160 KM away from Ranchi (The Capital of Jharkhand state) and about 60 KM away from Gumla (District headquarter). Its east border has Chainpur block, north border has Mahuwadanr (Palamau District) and south-west has the border of Chhatisgarh state. Dumri block was introduced in SAMUDAYIK VIKAS PRAKRAM – I on 2/10/1958 and on 1/10/1983 it came under SAMUDAYIK VIKAS PRAKRAM – II . At present it is under C.D. postage �2. From 1/4/1963 Tribes development Programme is started here and since 1/4/1966 GAHAN KRISHI KARYAKARAM has been being implemented. At present Dumri block is under Tribes Devlpoment programme -II. Dumri has the honour of its great son,The PARAMVEER CHAKRA winner martyr L.N.ALBERT EKKA , who born at JARI village. Tanginath Temple is situated at 9 KM from Dumri. In this tribal belt KORBA, ASUR and BIRHOR (Primitive Tribes) have been living in the PAAT region since centuries. The local administration and the state government have first priority to provide primary facilities to there primitive tribes. They have been being provided house, Well, Clothes, Blanket, Mosquitoes, Fertilizers, Seeds, Mesquites, agricultural apparatus, Cattle, and other commodities.
