Gumla
Gumla block is situated at about 96 km from Ranchi Commissionary of Jharkhand state. It has been established on 25 May 1956. Gumla block was introduced in SAMUDAYIK VIKAS PRAKRAM -I on 01.04.1963 and on 01.14.1967 it came under UTTAR PRAKRAM �II. In this block GAHAN KRISHI KARYAKRAM has been started on 01.04.1963. PANCHAYAT SAMITI has been established on 02.10.1964. Gumla block is surrounded by forests and Mountains ANJAN DHAM is situated in Anjan village which is the birth place of GOD HANUMAN. It is 8 km north west of Gumla block. Industry on small scale is based on forest produce such as Tamarind (Imli), Lac(LAH) Karanj seeds, Chiraunji & Bamboo. It is tribes dominated block. Beside agriculture Villagers also depend on Pisciculture & Sericulture for their economy. One can get best quality of SILK SARI from AROUSE, GUMLA.
